Leafroom

Make room for something green.

A little light, a suitable pot and a moment of attention. A practical starting point for growing plants indoors.

Observe first. Water second.

Start with the space you have

Look at the light

Watch how sunlight moves through the room. Bright indirect light sits near a window without strong sun falling directly on the leaves.

Choose a draining pot

A pot with drainage holes lets excess water escape. Empty the saucer after watering rather than leaving the roots standing in water.

Check the soil

Feel the potting mix before reaching for the watering can. Different plants dry at different speeds, so a fixed weekly schedule is only a reminder.

A few useful notes

Turn the pot occasionally

Rotate the plant a little as you check it. This helps you notice new growth and keeps the plant from leaning toward one side.

Give new plants time

A move changes light, temperature and humidity. Keep conditions steady while you learn how the plant responds.

Keep a small plant note

Write down the plant name, where it lives and when you last watered it. Patterns are easier to spot when you have a few observations.

A healthy plant begins with knowing its place.
